Toffee Apple Cake
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 200 grams sugar
- 280 mililiters vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 375 grams plain flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 500 grams chopped, peeled apples
- 120 grams chopped pecans
Toffee Sauce
- 125 grams butter
- 60 mililiters milk
- 225 grams dark brown soft sugar
- 1 pinch salt
Directions
Heat the oven to 350° F. Grease and flour a 10-inch ring cake pan.
In a mixing bowl, beat eggs until foamy; gradually add sugar. Blend in oil and vanilla. Combine flour, salt, and soda; add to egg mixture. Stir in apples and pecans.
Spoon the batter into the cake pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
For the toffee sauce, combine all ingredients in a saucepan; boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Slowly drizzle over warm cake.
